The Catechism of the Good Shepherd Inspired

Spent some time this evening in St Vincent De Paul, just before our weekly Breadrun.
Gary introduced me to the Catechism of the Good Shepherd for children.

Inspired deeply by Dr Maria Montessori, Sofia Cavalletti and her Montessori collaborator, Gianna Gobbi, in Rome after a long period of careful observation of children unraveled a formation dedicated to religious formation of young children.

Stepping into the Atrium as they coin the place of play & pray, a room prepared for the children. It was almost like walking on holy ground. A feeling of God’s presence rushed over me and brushed me with his gentle and calming peace.

It was like walking into Adoration.
The world seems slows down when you are in the Atrium.

Simple but yet carefully crafted materials (all hand made, I was told)
They all fill the room, Miniature in size, fitting perfectly for tiny hands and feets,
thoughtful in colour and deed for the little ones.

It’s almost like I was part of a mystery, waiting to be unraveled.
I was amazed.
