Freedom in the Lord

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! – Psalm 118:21. Yes, his love endures forever, you will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you says the Lord – Jeremiah 29:13.

I learnt what the love of God is; I learnt what it meant for him to die on the cross so that I can be free. Free from the sins of the world. I learnt that if no man on earth will forgive you for all that you’ve done, Jesus will. I learnt that his love for me is unconditional, accepting, loving and always patient. And if you’re are brokenhearted, he will mend that broken heart. If you are alone, know that he’s always, always there with you.

I’ve seen the beauty of God in the freedom that he gives to each one of us, where free will exists in every decision, every undertaking, he’s a God who loves us so much that whatever, just whatever we choose to do, he will still, and always love us. In understanding how much Jesus loves me, I am so deeply moved within my soul that I will in my own heart to walk in his ways, to love him more each day.

The ways that allow me to walk in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts (Psalm 119:45). What ways you’ll ask. It’s the ways of loving Jesus. I realized that when one loves, he loves with a faithful heart, affectionate, to keep each other in mind, to share each other’s presence daily if not often, to share one’s day, however little or small. Does this rake up the feelings of love that has hung deep inside the depths of your heart? Remember how it is when you are in love? Imagine loving Jesus just the very same way. I realized that in loving Jesus you want to live a life of fruitfulness, to love as he has loved us.  The stranger on the road, the homeless man by the street or the one you love at home. The overflowing abundance of his love will flow to them, every deed, thought and word becomes an act of compassion.

It’s almost like abandonment to your own life; it’s almost like a surrender of your inmost desires. In seeking his will, he plants new seeds of desires within you, to teach you to love him first, and all other desires shall follow. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. – Romans 12:2

And in this quest to fulfill his will, comes a freedom from the chains of worldly desires. Rainy days may come, they always do, there’s no doubt about that, but each rainy day is shared with him, for you know that the surrender to him will yield peace within your heart.

In this freedom with the Lord, a peace that the world cannot give.

Hello Daniel, awesome! I’m glad someone shares this same freedom! It’s amazing I have to say :)

Beth Moore puts it very well, “Christ Woos us to the place of absolute freedom. The only kind of freedom that is real.”
